National Shotgun C’ship: Zaid Ali Khan, Man Singh, Mairaj Ahmad Khan take lead in skeet

Zaid Ali Khan of Uttar Pradesh shot on par with former Asian champion Man Singh and Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan to lead with 49 on the opening day of skeet competition at the 62nd National Shotgun championship held at the JDA Range on Wednesday.

One point behind the three were Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Sheeraz Sheikh. Seven others were on 47, including Baba P. S. Bedi, Smit Singh, Gurjoat Singh and Sukhbir Singh Harika.

Lead for Abhay Singh Sekhon

In the junior category, Abhay Singh Sekhon led with 48 after two rounds, two points ahead of Anantjeet Singh Naruk and Rajveer Singh Gill.

Two more rounds will be shot on Thursday, followed by the last round on Friday and the final featuring the top six.
