The buzz around Le Golf National was considerably louder on Wednesday as the Ryder Cup inched one day closer. The European fans gave their team a taste of what to expect the rest of the week, while more and more American flags crept through the gates as the morning wore on.

Enjoy a few of Wednesday's highlights from the course.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR HANDS?

Team USA's morning photo shoot provided a few hearty chuckles from the moment the team gathered on the 10th fairway.

Once the players begrudgingly removed their hats for the cameras, captain Jim Furyk accidentally knocked the lid off the Ryder Cup before snatching it from the grass and slapping it back on.

"No one saw that. It's only in like a thousand pictures," Furyk said. Then, Justin Thomas drew some ire from his team-mates when he jumped the line during pictures with Furyk and the cup.

After Team USA old-timer Phil Mickelson snapped the first shot with Furyk, Thomas bolted to the trophy. "Whoa whoa, it's old guys first," Bubba Watson, 39, informed the 25-year-old Ryder Cup rookie. For what it's worth, there was no discernible order after Thomas. We'll chalk it up to a little rookie razzing.

YOU CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS

Bryson DeChambeau, 25, is roughly half the age of Mickelson — and the two looked too much like an awkward uncle/nephew combo in a strange video from Tuesday night where the two Team USA members manipulated their eyebrows. Equally impressive and unsettling.

BUBBA FEELING BLUE

Watson, who was under the weather during and after his Tuesday round, stepped to the mic for his press conference wearing a bright blue glove, for reasons we still don't fully understand.

"Every time we have a team event, there's people that you've got to say so many words or you've got to do something, we'll say, dumb. So, I said I've got to wear my glove the whole interviews. So, I'm doing it," Watson said.

Watson said other players have assigned tasks for their media availability, but Jordan Spieth played dumb when asked what he was supposed to be up to.

"I don't even know anything about it. He just was in the locker room and said, 'I think I'm going to wear my glove in media.'," Spieth said. Fair enough. Let's allow inside jokes to be just that - inside.
