"There are a lot of conflict of interests, and that needs to be looked into. The Supreme Court had dismissed Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke for failing to implement its orders," Verma said.

A few days after the Supreme Court approved a new constitution for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Aditya Verma is set to file a petition in the Supreme Court, questioning the functioning of the Committee of Administrators(CoA), led by Vinod Rai.

“Some of the decisions taken by the CoA, led by Rai, is questionable and I want to know how justified those decisions were,” Verma, the main petitioner against the BCCI which resulted in the reforms upheaval, told  Sportstar .

While he is in talks with his lawyers and plans to file the petition in the apex court in the next 10 days, Verma is miffed by the way CoA approved appointments of a few BCCI employees with hefty pay packages.

“For most of these jobs, there were no applications. Then, how can you hire employees that way?” Verma questioned.

“They hired Tufan Ghosh as the COO of the National Cricket Academy. I wonder, how come someone who has no idea about cricket, was hired for the big role? These are the questions Mr Rai and the CEO must answer,” Verma added.

The seasoned administrator also question on what ground was Prof. Ratnakar Shetty named the head of the cricket ad-hoc committee constituted for Uttarakhand.

“All the BCCI staff, who completed 60 years, were given retirements. Then, how come the same rule was not implement for Prof Shetty?” Verma queried.

He also plans to write to the Prime Minister’s Office citing major corruption in awarding advertisement slots during this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).

“There are a lot of conflict of interests, and that needs to be looked into. The Supreme Court had dismissed Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke for failing to implement its orders. But even Rai failed to implement half the recommendations. It is very unfortunate that he still holds the position,” Verma said.

“The northeast state associations don’t have any money to host competitions and nothing has been done. I plan to raise all these issues in the petition,” the administrator signed off.
