Vijender Singh has reunited with noted British boxing promoter Frank Warren.
This comes a year after the Indian pro boxer terminated his contract with Warren’s Queensberry Promotions citing that he wasn't getting enough fights overseas.
The boxer, who is presently training in the U.K., ahead of his next fight with Lee Markham for the Commonwealth Super Middleweight title, confirmed the development.
"What you've heard is true. Queensberry will be my promoters overseas," Vijender told Sportstar from Liverpool on Saturday.
While Warren's company will promote the Indian for his bouts in the UK, IOS Boxing Promotions will continue managing him for fights in India. "Both the companies will remain with me and help me in boxing. I am really happy with this partnership," Vijender added.
In 2015, Vijender signed an agreement with Queensberry, which brought an end to his amateur career. While calling off the deal last year, Vijender had stated that Queensberry could only organise two fights, while it had promised six.
But even after deciding to go solo with IOS, Vijender could only get two fights at home — the last one was against Ghana’s Ernest Amuzu in Jaipur in December last year.
