The Staples Centre in Los Angeles will witness heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder defend his title against lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in arguably the biggest boxing event of the year.

Ahead of the mega event, Wilder dismissed suggestions that Fury will provide him with his biggest challenge, after weighing in 44 pounds lighter than his rival the fight.

To ensure that things are all smooth, the pair were kept at a safe distance for their final face-off. This came in after Wednesday’s media conference when the two threatened to get violent during a heated confrontation.

Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) has maintained his punching power in the ring, including in his most recent fight when he rallied to stop Luis Ortiz in the 10th round in March at Barclays Arena in Brooklyn.

According to CBS Sports , his knockout streak continues to grow longer and longer, which has odds-makers leaning toward the “Bronze Bomber” on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) returned to the ring earlier this year following a three-year layoff from the fight game and has had two tune-up fights before stepping into the ring with Wilder.

Prior to the event, Fury had admitted that he was ready to do anything to beat his opponent. “If I can defeat depression, I can defeat anything,” he had said, leading up to the event.
