Who's the fastest in tennis?

According to data from Tennis Australia’s Game Insight Group, Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep are the fastest man and woman among tennis professionals.

The condition of upper limbs -- durability of shoulders, power of arms and the hands' dexterity -- determines the outcome of a tennis shot. But, who's the fastest of 'em all?

Tracking the movement of players over three metres or more at the Australian Open for the last three years, Tennis Australia’s Game Insight Group (GIG) found that Novak Djokovic had a maximum speed of 36.02kph, better than anyone else.

Andy Murray, however, pips Djokovic in average top speed. The World No. 1's 15.89kph is higher than Djokovic’s average top speed of 14.89kph.

Rafael Nadal was twelfth on the overall list with a top speed of 26.84kph, while Roger Federer’s top speed was nearly 10kph slower than Djokovic at 26.03kph.

Among women, World No. 4 Simona Halep's atop top speed chart with 23.04kph while the top-ranked Angelique Kerber's average top speed of 14.27 was the highest.
