BCCI’s National Senior Selection Committee’s chairman M. S. K. Prasad has joined hands with Andhra Hospitals in Vijayawada, and Healing Little Hearts – a team from the United Kingdom – in helping new-born babies with heart ailments.
“For the past three years our team has performed 13 rare heart surgeries with 100 per cent success rate. All these surgeries are done free of cost as parents of those babies cannot afford the costs involved in this intricate surgeries,” said Prasad.

Beaming beside a little one in the hospital bed, Prasad said, “I feel fortunate to be a part of this programme. I am going to support this baby for her post operation care. Doctors have performed the operation for 12 hours and the baby is perfectly alright now. I will look after her from now on.”

Healing Little Hearts is a global charitable organisation sending teams to different countries to perform heart surgeries in children. The team members are from the U.K., other European countries and Australia.
Andhra hospital is associated with Healing Little Hearts for the past two years and has conducted 10 camps and 215 heart surgeries with excellent results. “Now we are establishing a children's heart institute and with the help of Healing Little Hearts team and Andhra Pradesh Government at Amaravati,” Prasad added.
