Kohli becomes second highest run-scorer in T20Is

Virat Kohli, since his debut, has racked up 1943 runs at 52.91 and is now only behind former New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum, who slammed 2140 runs from 71 encounters at 35.66.

India captain Virat Kohli on Saturday became the second highest run-scorer in Twenty20 Internatioinals, surpassing former Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan's 1,889 runs. Kohli now trails former New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum, who slammed 2,140 runs from 71 encounters at 35.66.

Kohli, who has 17 half-centuries in the shortest format, recorded his first T20I duck in 52 matches when he was dismissed by Australia’s John Behrendorff in Guwahati last month. He averaged 54.57 before getting out for nought. Away from home, Kohli averages a stunning 62.18 at a strike rate of 142.20 with seven half-centuries.
