Bradley Dredge took a three-shot lead at the end of second round of the Made in Denmark golf tournament on Friday.

Bradley Dredge took charge of the Made in Denmark on Friday, displacing the trio of overnight leaders and moving three shots clear.

Welshman Dredge was one stroke off the pace at the end of Thursday, with Joakim Lagergren, Thomas Pieters and Tom Lewis topping the leaderboard having shot course-record-equalling round of 62.

Dredge, a two-time winner on the European Tour, ended day one with six birdies from the final seven holes, and he carried that form into Thursday by picking up five shots on the front nine.

A bogey on the 13th hole was immediately cancelled out on the next and the Welshman parred his way back to the clubhouse at 13 under for the tournament.

Dredge's closest rival is Lagergren, who sits three shots back after carding a one-under 70 thanks to a birdie at the 14th.

Pieters is joined by Richard Sterne on nine under, while Lewis took 10 shots more to around the course than the day prior to slip to joint-fifth with Adrian Otegui, who surged up the rankings with a five-under 66.

The day's top performer, however, was Englishman Oliver Wilson, who joined Thomas Aiken, Jeff Winther, Soren Kjeldsen and David Lipsky in seventh after shooting a bogey-free 65.

Lipsky could have found himself out of that group after his first putt on the par-three 16th failed to climb a hill on the green and rolled back towards him, but he sunk it at the second attempt to save par.

Martin Kaymer sits tied-26th on three under for the tournament, with Shane Lowry a further shot back in joint-30th.

Andy Sullivan's weekend ended miserably as he dropped three shots on the 18th to drop below the cut line.

Europe's Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke also failed to make the weekend, but the Himmerland crowd showed their support with a swathe of placards displaying a continental star.
