“We're gathering details and are working out the possibilities of bidding for the 2020 U-20 Women's World Cup,” AIFF general secretary Kushal Das told Sportstar .
Given the recent success of the Indian Women's League, Das added that hosting the tournament could further boost women's football in the country.

India will be seen as a strong contender as it's bid is backed with six FIFA approved stadiums — DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai , the Fatorda Stadium in Goa, Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium, Guwahati's Indira Gandhi Athletic International Stadium, the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi and New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium — which hosted games of the U-17 World Cup.
The bid comes months after AIFF's bid to host the 2019 U-20 Men's World Cup was turned down.
