Indian football’s Mission XI Million Football Festival launched in Ahmedabad

Celebrating the MXIM success of reaching 1.7 million kids, the students engaged in a number of fun activities including exhibition games and showed of their skills alongside Hrithik Roshan and Bhaichung Bhutia.

The Mission XI Million Football Festival held at The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad saw participation from 6000 children in the presence of All India Football Federation President, Praful Patel; former Indian Football Team Captain, Bhaichung Bhutia, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and TransStadia Founder & MD, Udit Sheth.

Celebrating the MXIM success of reaching 1.7 million kids, the students engaged in a number of fun activities including exhibition games and showed of their skills alongside Hrithik Roshan and Bhaichung Bhutia.

The event marked the stadium’s foray into football, with the exhibition game being the first played at on The Arena by TransStadia’s FIFA standard pitch.

Founder and Managing Director SE TransStadia, Udit Sheth elaborated, “Football is huge in India and the MXIM is a breathtaking initiative to reach millions of Indian kids across schools. We are so proud to launch this fest at our world-class venue which is superb for fans, players and broadcasters alike. Ours is the only FIFA standard football only stadium in the country and we hope that such not only brings awareness for the sport, but becomes a precursor to many pro-teams making our Ahmedabad Arena, their home”.

With the FIFA U-17 World Cup drawing close, the country is getting football ready for what is to be the first of many international football events in the country.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who has illustrated his love and support for the game of football through his association with FC Pune City said, “I am delighted to be here for the Mission XI Million festival. To reach out to 11 million children is ambitious, which is what makes this wonderful initiative even more brilliant. With the FIFA U-17 World Cup also happening this year, I think this year could really be a watershed moment in Indian sports and football”.

Mission XI Million will reach out to 11 million children before the FIFA U-17 World Cup begins in October later this year.
