The newest entrants to the first-class circuit – Bihar and North East states – will be competing in the Plate Division even though the SGM was not convinced if the teams were ready. The SGM also emphasised that the decisions would need approval of the Supreme Court.

The SGM also decided to go ahead with payments to the players as per the revised contracts announced by the CoA. According to the revised contracts, the players in the A+ category will receive Rs 7 crore; those in the A, B and C will get Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively. The SGM decided to increase the salary of domestic men and women cricketers.
