NPR College of Engineering and Technology (NPRCET) ground has come a long way since the inauguration of its turf wicket by Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir four years back.

The first Ranji Trophy match between Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir, played in 2014, was a success leading to a slew of matches at the picturesque ground.

The facilities have increased manifold since then. A stadium which can host a capacity of more than three thousand people has helped the venue reach great heights in a short span of time. The drainage system can be compared to the best in the world. It has made sure that matches resume quickly despite heavy rain.

The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has got the fans into a tizzy as they fill the stadium in huge numbers creating an electrifying atmosphere. The scenic back drop has impressed one and all. While the former Kiwi batsman Scott Styris compared the NPRCET to the venues in New Zealand, former Australian opener Matthew Hayden was impressed with the facilities the stadium has been able to provide.

Apart from the foreign commentators providing their expert views, the local language commentary delivered by former Tamil Nadu players has increased the interest among the local fans.

A press box has allowed the reporters to get the reach to local newspapers. With songs being played during the ad breaks, the crowds are kept entertained throughout the duration of the match.

The flood lights during the day night matches have ushered in an experience for which was earlier confined to following matches on television.

The venue has drawn praise from Indian Cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, who expressed their desire to revisit the venue after Punjab's win against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy encounter two years back. Both players who inaugurated the pavilion compared the venue to Dharamsala and felt that more Ranji Trophy matches should be played here.

With such excellent reviews pouring in from former and present cricketers, and the stadium packed to the rafters, the Dindigul District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials are expecting a Ranji Trophy knock out encounter sooner rather than later.
