6:28pm: Another eventful day comes to an end, with medals coming from shooting, wrestling and track & field. The eighth day at the Games started with Tejaswini bagging silver in 50m prone shooting and then it was a medal rush for India in wrestling - 2 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Sushil won his successive Commonwealth gold, Rahul Aware also clinched a gold in another weight category of wrestling. In women's freestyle wrestling, Babita Kumari Phogat and Kiran settled for silver and bronze respectively. Then it was Seema Punia and Navjeet Dhillon ending the day with Silver and bronze in discus throw.
6:10pm: That's it and Australia is through to the finals of the women's hockey after a 1-0 win against India. But with that scoreline against the formidable Aussies, Indian players deserve a bit of credit. The India Women will be playing England in bronze play-off on Saturday and Australia takes on New Zealand in the summit clash.
6:01pm: Less than 8 minutes left to the final hooter and India desperately looking for the equaliser. PC chances also gone begging.
5:53pm: Q4 gets underway in the India vs Australia women's hockey semifinal.
5:51pm: Q3 ends with Australia managing to find the net. The fourth and final Quarter going to be crucial for both the teams. IND 0-1 AUS.
5:40pm: GOAL. Where did that come from? With that strike, Australia has managed to break the deadlock and now with a 1-0 lead. Grace Stewart, the goalscorer.

2:04pm: Sushil Kumar clinches his third Commonwealth gold after beating Johannes Botha of South Africa on technical superiority in men's freestyle 74kg. This is India's second gold in wrestling and 14 overall at Gold Coast.

1:54pm: The big bout starting in few minutes time with India's star wrestler Sushil Kumar taking on Johannes Botha of South Africa in men's freestyle 74kg.

1:12pm: Aware now leading 13-6. Clock ticking away, gold looking realistic. And that is the end of the bout, and Aware giving India its first Wrestling gold at this Games. He won the bout 15-7 to give India its 13th gold medal.
1:06pm: Aware not dropping his guard and continues to attack, now with 9-6 lead. The Indian wrestler seems to have injured himself. Back to the fight again.
1:05pm: Aware pins down Takahashi to take an early two-point lead, but the Canadian grappler claws back immediately by grabbing four points.
1:01pm: In few minutes time, the next Indian grappler Rahul Aware will be in action against Steven Takahashi of Canada in the men's 57kg freestyle category. Can he win the first wrestling gold at this Games?
12:40pm: Great move by Babita as she takes two points. But Weicker turns the table with a three-point lead. That's it, Babita settles for a silver after conceding the final bout 2-5.

10:06am: Kidambi Srikanth beats Sri Lanka's Niluka Karunaratne 21-10 21-10 and is through to the quarterfinals. The World No 1 shuttler will face either Buwaneka Goonethilleka (Sri Lanka) or Zin Rei Ryan Ng (Singapore).
10:05am: Sindhu is through to the quarterfinals. She beat Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen 21-15 21-9. She will face Brittney Tam (Canada) next.
9:50am: Sindhu races to a 15-9 lead and finally, wins the first game 21-11; Srikanth wins first game 21-10.
9:35am: Chen is not an easy opponent at all, but Sindhu has taken a slender 11-9 lead at mid-game. On the other hand, Srikanth leads 11-3 in first break.
Kidambi Srikanth against (Karunaratne) and P.V. Sindhu (against Chen) are currently in action in men's singles and women's singles respectively.

8:42am: In table tennis, Sharath Kamal/Mouma Das enter quarterfinals of mixed doubles. The duo beat England's David McBeth/Kelly Sibley 11-5, 11-9, 11-9; Sanil Shetty/Madurika Patkar also enter mixed doubles quarterfinal beating Rhikesh Taucoory and Elodie Ho Wan Kau (Mauritius) 11-4, 11-5, 11-6.
8:40am: Rahul Aware through to the final of men's freestyle 57kg after overcoming Mohammed Bilal of Pakistan 12-6.
8:30am: Babita Kumari, the lady grappler, also registered a win. She knocked down Australia's Carissa Holland in just 36 seconds.
8:15am: Senior pro Sushil Kumar wins another 11-0, after his round of 16, to earn a berth in the semifinal of the men's 74kg freestyle event. He beat Muhammad Asad Butt of Pakistan. In women's freestyle 76kg, India's Kiran beat Cameroon's Danielle 11-1 to enter the semifinals, which she lost. But she has a chance of claiming bronze now against Mauritius' Katouskia Pariadhaven, for the third place.
8:00am: It seems to be a good day for wrestling. India, which so far has been winning medals in shooting and weightlifting, will now claim a bit of fame in wrestling too.
7:45am: In squash, Dipika Pallikal/Saurav Ghoshal and Joshna Chinappa/ Harinder Pal Sandhu advance to quarters of mixed doubles.
